In honor of dancers everywhere, Village Theatre is excited to announce DANCE EDUCATION WEEK taking place in Issaquah June 30-July 3, 2010. Following each of these five shows, a member of the critically acclaimed cast will present a unique Talkback about their artistic journey and what it means to be a dancer in a professional production. For our very first DANCE EDUCATION WEEK Q&A, 42ND STREET co-choreographer cast member, Kristin Culp and her cast-mate James Scheider (both former KIDSTAGE dance instructors) will be hosting the post-show Talkback on Wednesday, June 30.
Kristin is both the co-choreographer and a member of the Ensemble for 42ND STREET. She holds a B.A. in jazz dance and minor in musical theatre from Point Park University; she has served as a KIDSTAGE dance instructor, and also teaches dance and yoga around the greater Seattle area. You may have seen Kristin at Village Theatre in Meet Me in St. Louis and Stunt Girl, or maybe at Seattle Children’s Theatre in The Wizard of Oz.
James plays Billy Lawlor in 42ND STREET, and his incredible dance skills are featured throughout. Recently he played the Jerry Lee Lewis understudy in Million Dollar Quartet in both Chicago and on Broadway, and he has been seen at Village Theatre in AIDA and The Who’s TOMMY. James has also served as a KIDSTAGE dance instructor in previous years.
Look! James even flips on stage!
